A Word from Pastor Doug
I have come as light into the world, so that everyone who believes in me should not remain in the darkness. - - John 12:46
Thank you for checking us out. We hope you like what you have seen so far and will want to know more about us. First and most importantly, WE'VE MOVED! We moved from a small church in town to our new location at 1319 Eighth Street Drive, just a few miles east of Watsontown Borough. Nine months ago we began construction on the first phase of our new church and had our first service on January 3, 2010. We have over 17,000 square feet of space, including a large worship area, new Sunday School classrooms, a commercial kitchen and office space. Check out the link to our construction photographs on the home page of our website. We hope you will consider joining us!
Watsontown United Methodist Church is a Lighthouse Community committed to serving Christ in many ways. It is a growing congregation that has doubled in worship in recent years. Each person is important to God and to us and we hope to build relationships with many in our community.
Worship is a vital part of our lives. We have the finest and widest array of music in the area as our 9 member praise band leading contemporary worship at 8:00 and with 5 choirs participating in our traditional service at 10:30. We look into God's Word each week to find practical help for our daily living.
Our congregation offers many ministries and small groups to care for the varied needs of our community. We are very happy to sponsor Happy Harbor Pre School for 3 & 4 & 5 years old during the week; Grief Share support Group; First Place, a Christ-centered weight loss program; weekly Bible Studies; and so much more.
I want to personally invite you to worship with us on Sunday morning. We are prepared to welcome you warmly, make new friends and together make a difference in our community. Please join us this week at either the 8:00 or 10:30 services. Sunday School for all ages is offered at 9:15.
Watsontown United Methdodist Church is handicap accessible.
A servant of Christ,
Pastor Doug
